There are many ways to improve your mood. There are things you can eat that make you happy but this is temporary and unless you are following a super strict diet using food for mood enhancing can be detrimental to your health. Let's face it, most of the time when we eat to make ourselves happy we usually end up eating junk that clogs our arteries and shortens our lifespan.
Some people use aromatherapy which is great but fragranced candles and essential oils can be expensive. Plus not all candles use healthy ingredients. You have to be careful what you are breathing in from these products. Even some essential oils can be toxic if you don't have the proper dose or dilution.
One of the easiest ways to unwind and relax both your mind and body is with music. Everyone loves music and our bodies seem to be tuned biologically to become calm when we listen to instrumental or other softer types of music. For me ambient music is the best form of relaxation music
There's a reason why they play it on elevators or on the phone when you are put on hold. It is naturally soothing and the body reacts to the slower rhythm of the music. We know we are in a safe and pleasing environment when we hear these types of instruments being played. I believe these sounds are closer to the sounds our ancestors made when they played their musical instruments around the communal fire.
Here are two selections I have chosen for you today. They are both 5 minute relaxation music clips even though they may be a minute or two longer. They are both looped from one instrumental piece but they both use a relaxing ambient song. Be sure to set the video settings to auto repeat and find a place to lay down and relax.
